Biochar as an aggregate for concrete & cement
Biochar is a versatile, CO₂-neutral energy source that has enormous potential in the construction industry. In cement production, it replaces fossil fuels and thus effectively reduces emissions. At the same time, biochar is used as a sustainable aggregate in concrete: it improves material stability, regulates moisture and thus extends the service life of buildings.
Biochar also impresses as a natural thermal insulation material - with a high insulating effect, better energy efficiency and a noticeable reduction in heating costs. Another advantage: the biochar bound in building materials stores CO₂ in the long term and thus creates the basis for CO₂ certificates and additional compensation.
